During the month of April, the amazing people at #airwiggles hosted the April Audio Challenge. The idea behind this was to get into the habit of practicing sound design against the clock everyday for a month. I paired this with taking the plunge into Reaper, and treated it like a morning sound design workout. 🏋♂️

This was mini exercise in subtlety and minimalism.
As the music was doing the majority of the heavy lifting I felt that the sound design needed to:
• Establish location and follow camera perspective
• Highlight story points
• Support the music

Thunder: Whether it represents fear or tranquillity. There's something incredibly primal about the sound of thunder. For me, it creates a brief but deep connection with the earth and the environment around us. It makes me think back to times when humans were living in caves and fighting dinosaurs and the fine line between safety and danger. #thepsychologyofsound
