Loon of the lake cardholder
I should probably start sharing what Iโll have available at next weekendโs market! Iโve been so busy creating, working and travelling this month that I havenโt had the chance to share whatโs coming off the press.
As things get backed and edged up, Iโll share the goodness thatโs been cookin!
Catch me at Modern Fuel this Saturday, November 29th!
What a joy to host Nico and Taylor's beading workshop at KNCLN!
Thank you so much to @kingston_native_centre for providing a warm and welcoming space for community to come together and learn new beadwork techniques, and to @odehmin and @jackpine.designs for their wonderful workshop facilitation. It was a real honour to witness the knowledge sharing and laughter (lots of laughter!) between everyone who attended, including some of the amazing artists who were featured in ๐๐ข๐ข๐ฃ๐ข๐ฏ๐ซ๐ช๐จ๐ข๐ข๐ป๐ฐ earlier this fall ๐ฅฐ

Wrapped this colourful lanyard up for tonightโs @drawbynightkingston Drawn to Nature event!
Come on out to Rideau Acres Campground from 6-8pm and join in on the nature inspired creative party!
Iโm stoked to be a demonstration artist- there to chat with party people about my craft, artistic process and inspiration. Iโll also have a small stock of goodies for sale.
Moccasins for my Nan ๐ธ
I promised to make my Nan a pair of mocs back at Christmas time. She picked the pattern (I used one of @j_leigh_gokey beautiful designs) and the colours. I bought the cream deer hide, beaver pelt and melton from @billworbfursinc back in November when we visited Winnipeg for Indspire.
In my silly mind, I thought I could whip them out by New Years. Creator humbled me real quick on that one.
After sizing and resizing, taking my time with the stitches, being so careful with the beadwork, and stabbing my finger real good attaching the furโฆ theyโre finally done!
I was going to mail them to her for Christmas in July, but we decided to deliver them to see her reaction in person.
It was worth it. She was delighted.
A heart berry wristlet! ๐
Had fun playing with peyote patterns. This was inspired by the colours a talented kwe chose in one of the beading workshop groups I facilitated this month for queenโs itep learners.
She went with salmon for hers, I added the flowers and seeds for strawberry in mine here.
Was gifted to a new pal whoโs doing some super good heart work for drinking water. โฅ๏ธ
โThis piece represents the memories I hold in my blood. A collection of scattered and fragmented photographs- most of which are faces of strangers- like the scattering of their stories tethered by a connection to the land. A splash of red beads strewn across the wildflower star quilt take the shape of the Gananoque River and lead into Charleston Lakeโ the system of waters that have given life to generations of my ancestorsโ red like the blood of our veins, holding the survivance of our spirits.ย
This piece is a reflection on what I can express of my connection to self and spirit with the land. I intentionally quilted to connect with my paternal kin and beaded to embrace my maternal kin. What can be said is limited, what can be felt knows no bounds. The memories flow wordless in my blood.โ

Happy Indigenous Peopleโs Day!
This day and every day- make an effort to get to know the land and kin that you live with. Care for the Earth the way she cares for you- reciprocally. Care for the stories of the places and spaces you sit with.
Iโm so excited and proud to announce that my Kataroโkwi shirts, which honour the Anishinaabe and Kanien:kรฉhaka traditional names for Kingston, are available today and all summer long at the Kingston Tourism Center across from City Hall. (@visitkingstonca )
