Jack Margerison

A project for @yorkshirecancerresearch I shot last year, with Harry at @darwin__studios producing and bringing together such an incredible group of people and their stories. Thank you to everyone involved in this project, one I won’t forget doing. Here below is a beautiful write up on the project from Harry. “Some briefs are different. They make you sit up a little bit more and really want to do as much as you can for the client. This was one of those briefs for Yorkshire Cancer Research. We were tasked with casting and working with real people living with cancer across Yorkshire for Yorkshire Cancer Research’s campaign and crafting imagery that really showed a true love for Yorkshire. Jack did a fantastic job at this with some really stunning images. This was a project personally really close to my own lived experience. In 2011 I lost my dad to prostate cancer. And in 2025 my mother called me to tell me she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I also live in West Yorkshire. So when I sat down with the creative and Jack to run through the project, it felt deeply personal for the pair of us. We cast real people living in Yorkshire and living with cancer. For 2 weeks my inbox was filled with so many different stories of life, strength but one thing which connected them all, resilience. The ability to have something so heavy happen to you health wise yet step forward and email a total stranger about being photographed in a campaign, it was nothing short of remarkable. And it was a total privilege to work with people across Yorkshire with so many moving and touching stories about love, life and everything in between. The responsibility and care to make this project come to life and whilst also carrying the trust people had put in you to share their stories was immense, but it was something both myself and Jack really took on and carried throughout the shoot. We hiked across windy moors, walked through woodland and scrambled up hilly cobbled streets. The result is this beautiful campaign which I am so honoured to have produced and had Jack doing such a gorgeous job with the photography. A nice one to finally upload for @united to showcase their new Polaris Studio Suites - This shoot was a big operation with some incredibly talented people to bring to life as the team built two plane interiors next to each other in Kennington Film Studios. It was great to work with amazing people at @priestmangoode who built the CGI renders for us to work with on this project, as we didn’t have the physical aircraft to work with to create the images. Thank you to everyone who helped on this one. Food poisoning on my last days in Mexico wasn’t quite enough to keep me off set when I touched down back in London. Especially not when it’s shooting the campaign imagery for @greg_james and his incredible Comic Relief challenge for this year, tandem biking 1000km in 8 days. Second set of imagery from the @kneecap32 latest music video directed by the one and only @thomasjames__ The shoot day was intense as so much had to be captured but the boys were brilliant to work with and nailed every shot with their energy levels which you'd expect. Retouch - @emretouch

When @thomasjames__ calls you and says he’s directing the new music video for @kneecap32 , you listen, grab your camera, and snap like hell in the very short spaces of time in between takes. Watching Thom work his magic on shoots like this is always incredible. He’s a very, very talented man, and shooting alongside him is always a joy. What makes it even better is that my studio buddies @attheshop helped cut and put together this masterpiece of a music video. Retouch - @emretouch
