shayda in la, one last time.
my favorite thing about this series with shayda is that they ended up having elements and unintentional easter eggs from every shoot we’ve done together over the last 5 years (time is a nightmare). i’ve been feeling nostalgic recently and I think you can feel that in these images.
also shayda wanted to say that she is an eighth italian?

I don’t think it’s hyperbolic of me to say that the work of David Lynch changed my life. I’ve always wanted to pay homage to his work in some way, but the last thing I wanted to do was something that felt like a direct recreation of his work. In 2022, he released a photo book called, “Digital Nudes” that both @maxwell.lloyd and I became kind of obsessed with. It’s haunting, strange, and beautiful just like all of his work. This series was inspired by that book, and I encourage you to seek it out. All of Lynch’s work as a photographer, painter, sculptor, etc. is often under discussed in comparison to his work in film and I encourage anyone reading this to dive into everything he gave us.

2025 probably sucked but got to do a lot of things that were pretty cool. Be in a wedding, play some shows, hang out with friends, record the @firstjoyband LP, meet a minion, etc.
I love everyone I know! 2026 is gonna be really cool I just know it.
