2025, the year I married the love of my life. I finally understand why couples say “we made it” once they reach their wedding day because wow, planning a wedding is no small task. But there is truly no one else I could have imagined by my side through it all (nor did I really have a choice). For those who don’t know, Doug was basically bride #2, or as some might say, a Groomzilla… just kidding. But truly, the amount of love and care you poured into our wedding was unbelievable. Every detail, every idea, the transportation schedule, the 100 WhatsApp group chats, the spreadsheet, nothing was overlooked. I feel so incredibly lucky to have had a partner who was so involved in this process, even during the moments when we (lovingly) wanted to strangle each other. Watching your partnership throughout this journey was such a powerful reflection of how you’ll show up for us in our life together. 9.4.25 Welcome to Castello di Rothfeldt, our little slice of paradise tucked away in Monte Argentario. Spritzes and Tomatotinis were flowing and as the sun set, our families gathered at the top of the tower for a beautiful welcome toast to officially kick off the weekend. Dinner was held at Trattoria Rothfeldt where we served classic Italian dishes and ended the night with the most delicious tiramisu. We listened to beautiful speeches from Marc Rothfeldt, Gino Gomez, Diego Gonzalez, and Sebastian Stime. Each one made us laugh, cry, and feel so loved. Le Club de Doug x Jackie’s Afters The second Doug saw the secret courtyard at La Capitana, he knew. This space was made for our after party. The energy in that room was unreal. So much love, happiness, and the best vibes. The perfect ending to our fairytale weekend. Thank you, Gino & Andy, for taking us to the moon 🚀. Our Reception 🤍 It’s hard to put into words how beautiful this evening was. We were blessed with the most stunning sunset and a full moon that made everything feel almost unreal. The moment we sat down at our sweetheart table, I was completely in awe of the beauty surrounding us. Some of my favorite details were the florals - filled with my favorite flowers, dahlias, and green grapes - but my absolute favorite were our chargers. When we visited the rentals showroom in Rome, I couldn’t find anything I truly loved. That’s when Roxy had the idea to create custom chargers. She worked with an incredibly talented graphic designer to bring a whimsical plate design to life, and then had each one hand-painted in Sorrento. They truly felt like the star of the show. The night itself was unforgettable. We heard the most beautiful speeches from my father, sister and Danielle, and Jake did an incredible job MC’ing the entire weekend & ending it all with a really touching best man speech. And the food… truly beyond. Not just because it was our wedding, but because it genuinely exceeded every expectation. Thank you to Chef @francesco_ferretti_chef and @andreanotaro at @miramishospitality for making every single dish so memorable. And the millefoglie… I’m still dreaming about it and wishing I could have just one more bite. Turtle, we can’t thank you enough for officiating and leading the most perfect wedding ceremony. It was truly everything I had ever dreamed of. When we first asked you to be our officiant at Ondalinda in Montenegro in the summer of 2024, I’ll be honest, I had no idea what to expect. Doug and I woke up the next morning after a very late night and said, “Did we actually do that?” But deep down, we both knew there was no one better for this role. We kept it a secret so we could surprise everyone. Turtle didn’t even tell his own family. And for those who know Turtle, public speaking or showing his emotional side does not exactly come naturally. Yet you came so prepared and absolutely blew us away. We laughed, we cried, and then we laughed again. Having one of our closest friends, someone who has been with us since the very beginning of our relationship and for so many years alongside Doug, stand up and marry us meant more than words can express. Thank you for making our ceremony dreams come true.
