From 1st to last to 1st to last and back to 5th. Crazy weekend for the 89 car, @fmontecalvo laid down an incredible lap to take pole position on Friday in the last minute of qualifying but unfortunately we had a minor issue in tech and instead of starting 1st we had to start the race from 17th (DFL). We charged back through the field to eventually lead but unfortunately then got caught by a yellow before pitting and went back to the back. We then battled back to 5th!
Our @vasser.sullivan@gazooracingusa Lexus RCF was fantastic all weekend, sucks not to capitalise on it but fantastic job by the 12 car guys to bring home the victory!
Great weekend until it wasn’t… unfortunately we had an issue at a pit stop whilst running in the top 3 which put us several laps down and out of contention.
Proud of my team mates @ben_barnicoat and @kyle_kirkwood for doing everything possible on the race track and to the whole @vasser.sullivan@lexusracingusa team for bringing it all weekend. It was nice to be in the race and fighting again after we lacked performance at Daytona.
Painful day but every setback creates the opportunity for a great comeback and we have got the people and fighting spirit to do it.🙌

Jack Hawksworth returns to Le Mans with Akkodis ASP Team for the third consecutive year. He replaces Esteban Masson, who will be competing in another category at this year’s event. Jack’s knowledge of the team and the race will be a key asset across the 24 hours.
