That’s Chicago. There is nothing like an @adderley_school production. After an Adderley show, I’m always left feeling all romanced, intoxicated with joy, sometimes bereft but bittersweet and yet so fulfilled too. The Adderley School is not just any theatre company. It is a sport of the heart. It is a trial of spirit but most of all, it is the centerpiece of every vessel of self-expression I have ever known. A great and foremost reason in which I created my JDG scholarship was to offer those an opportunity for Janet’s wisdom and to find themselves encouraged and propelled by the sorcery that exists in every breath emanating from this home. My home is with Adderley. There is a real life magic at work here.

I wrote an insanely gripping and powerful caption and then stupid Instagram deleted it or something. After all, words themselves cannot do justice in capturing the greatness and power and beauty of Adderley. I’m just over here crying over my phone when really it’s so much bigger than me or my Instagram post. The Adderley school is, to me, the gestalt of hope and promise and triumph. It is the short snap or noise of a life or the recognition of being very, very happy in a moment. It is truly magical. The fingers in every moving piece that moves us to tears and to dance and to sing and to believe is the reason that I am still standing and here to write this measly caption on measly Instagram. I owe it all to you. I love you madly, Adderley and I will love you beyond the bounds of mortal measure. Nothing feels better than to know that the Adderley School will live on. The best feeling on Earth is on stage seeing the silhouette of a sunhat and applauding hands. I love you Janet like the Sun loves shining down on those who get their place in it, on your stage. Wherever it may be. I always do love my place there with you. It all just feels so good. I digress to the max. Overall, I am just so blessed and grateful. Thank you for a world of riveting soul. My heart is as full as it gets. Thank you for this gift I will forever cherish. Thank you for allowing me to be me. Thank you for my destiny. Thank you for this wonderful, wonderful feeling.
