Posting here to officially let everyone know I've rebranded this instagram to Jack Brown BFE, in order to slightly shift focus to promote my editing work and journey. Don't worry I will still be making announcements for The Avid Assistant Channel as well (You can check out a new video over there now on the Avid Control App for tablets if you haven't already!!) but as you can imagine, when pitching for cutting work it isn't ideal for you to literally label yourself as an Avid Assistant on your main socials. So on top of announcements of new channel videos you'll start to see more things like the fact that I'll be appearing on a panel of Editors in Edinburgh tomorrow night as part of an Event with @cinetopiahub and the @britishfilmeditors guild. I'm super excited to be a part of this panel of really incredible Editors: Lindsay Watson BFE, Stephen Mulholland BFE, ISE, Elisa Bonara BFE ACE and Iain Miller BFE. Should be a really awesome night filled with great chat, good friends and a few drinks over in the capital!
So excited to announce that I have now officially signed on with agency @saylescreen as an Editor with Agent Eva Bell.
Ecstatic to see where this next chapter with them will lead! Hopefully to cutting fascinating stories with wonderful Directors!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our two day 1st AE to Editor course in Glasgow! This was the first run before we take it on the road to Manchester, Cardiff and finally to London.
Met some new people as well as caught up with several familiar faces and it was an absolute pleasure to pass on and share my experiences with you!

Spent the day hanging out with the incredible Bryan Shaw @bryanshaw6141 . An Editor I first Assisted for back in 2015 I think on an SPP show in New Zealand called "Westside" (I'm wearing my cast and crew t shirt in the photo!) and last worked with on the 3rd season of Ash vs Evil Dead in 2017. When I heard you were over my side of the world in Dublin I had to pop over and say hello. A few pints, pizza and a great long conversation reminiscing about New Zealand, film / TV and post production. All the best Bryan for the rest of your project and hit me up if you are ever in Scotland! 🏴🇮🇪🇳🇿
Just came out of a very powerful screening of the first two episodes of upcoming BBC/Netflix co production "The Bombing of PanAM103". This incredibly powerful telling of the Lockerbie disaster and more importantly the people involved and their personal stories, made by World Productions, is DEFINITELY one to watch when it airs on May18th (first on the @bbc , then on @netflixuk Globally). Not had an emotional ride like that in a VERY long time. A deeply personal story full of humanity, heart and deep respect for what happened. 100% recommend! Huge thanks to @baftascotland for the screening.
Note to any and all production companies looking for an Editor for any long-form projects that may require travel. I have dual UK/Irish citizenship as well as New Zealand permanent residency! That coupled with a full portable avid setup means I am ready to roll for any work in the UK, EU or New Zealand :))) #filmandtv #travelling #remotework #postproduction
