I’ve had a couple of mates surprised that this ad for @plenishdrinks was filmed using Sony Gmaster lenses. Modern camera tech has become so good now that the emphasis has become more about how you use it. If shooting on super sharp lenses like these I tend to light far softer. When using softer vintage lenses I’ll often light far punchier. Thanks to my gaffer @deimantesprai 👊🏼

Was able to work with @deimantesprai as my gaffer for the first time in a while which was great! @jarodkemp nailed the sharps especially considering I filmed everything wide open. As we display the evolution of the Target Darts boards, @emperorsnew had the idea of using a contra-zoom (vertigo effect) to really highlight the board. To achieve this we had the board on a stand 1 meter from the board and then removed this in post.

We filmed the ad on the RED Raptor XL for its slow mo capabilities because at full speed, the darts are two fast to capture. Thanks @media_dog_hire for pulling through on this!
