A year ago today, I put up this backdrop in Westminster with @tom_quinton so that a scientist called Chris Whitty could film a public broadcast. A simple job but probably not one I'll ever forget.
BBC 4 Monday at 10pm 🕙 some music I made will be on THE TELLY! Desert Town Landings is a short film by the excellent @tenayasteed . Can't wait for people to see it
Sound on 🔊 Last year I composed a soundtrack to a new short film by @tenayasteed called Desert Town Landings. It was a really playful and experimental experience toying with lots of otherworldly sounds. Tenaya gave me a lot of freedom to interpret the piece in my own way and I'm really chuffed with how it turned out 👽
Here's what Tenaya has to say abt the piece: This film is inspired by UFO hoax photography & creative writing workshops I ran with local young people, to highlight and lash out against living in so-called ‘culture deserts’. The UFO scenes in the film were made by us in much the same way as these workshops; with no crew using analogue cameras and VERY homemade props. The only real difference is this time we brought a ladder and a fishing line along for the ride... ⠀
⠀
Everyone seen in the film is local, most performing from the windows of their own homes during Lockdown 01, nobody starring has any professional acting experience.
Big thanks to @ctsdofilm , @aceagrams , @filmsat59 and @bbcarts for making it happen.
Hopefully news on its premiere is on the way 🤞👽
My music is now on Spotify (+ the rest) and to mark the occasion I've made a playlist containing 6.5hrs of music that inspired the feel of my latest EP. Links in the bio as per, pls follow and enjoy.. there's a big mix of genres and nationalities 🌏
RIP DOOM, King Geedorah, Viktor Vaughn this pic (not mine alas) from the 2012 gig at 02 Forum. Glad I got to this supervillain on stage, the music world will miss him dearly x
Sooo in 2020 I visited the hospital more than anywhere else BUT.. it's completely true that where there's life, there's hope and I felt it strongest when talking to the inspiring folks I met on the ward. Many of whom are facing leukaemia, some not fully knowing if they'll see the other side of the pandemic and a handful who were my age and younger. I felt a bit out of place there initially but I'm so grateful to have had their company for brief moments this year, it's helped me in ways hard to describe.
--- p.s. didn't take a lot of pics this year but my fav has to be this one of my mum and my brother when I finally saw them in late summer after months of isolation
V excited to announce that I've completed soundtrack work on a new short film by Tenaya Steed. I'll keep ya posted on when and where you can see and hear it 🛸 x
