I’m excited to share a new short film project that I’ve finally had the opportunity to finish! Last November I had the chance to visit Vienna and Budapest with two of my close friends. This project attempts to recreate the experience of that week in my life; wandering through the streets of the city, getting lost in conversation, and reconnecting after being in different parts of the world.

This is a project I’d like to share about the talented musicians of the Brazilian Jazz Ensemble at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I created this project for a final presentation in an ethnomusicology class I took this past semester. I hoped to explore with this project the cultural transmission between the Brazilian and non-Brazilian musicians of this ensemble through the performance of Brazilian Jazz and Bossa Nova. I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to be a part of the ensemble’s rehearsals and for the time that Beto Rodrigues and Goio Lima gave to be interviewed. Link in bio
