2023 was a blast for LYREBIRD Beatbox School! It’s time to take stock of this wonderful year that has just ended.
It’s hard to sum up what we had the chance to live this year but here are some key figures for us:
• 24 masterclasses from beginner to advanced level
• 3 new premium video courses
• 11 featured events
• 95 Youtube videos (including 50 beatbox tutorials)
• +140 new sounds recorded with 16 pro beatboxers
All of these bring us one step closer from our ambition to provide to everyone the opportunity to learn and progress alongside the masters of the discipline!
This would not have been possible without the support and trust of the 160 students, 14 professional beatboxers and 13 partners and collaborators we have the chance to work with.

Rest in Power ✊🏿 to the legendary @officialBizMarkie aka the Clown Prince of Hip Hop. Not only was he a human beatbox pioneer but he also was the funniest rapper with classic songs like "Just a Friend", "The Vapors", "Young Girl Blues" and so on.
Two of my favorites songs from him are "Goes Around" and the later forbidden to release track "Alone Again" from the "I Need a Haircut" album that I have in both original release of the album with the song and the sample cleared one without it.
Biz also was a DJ, Master of Ceremony and actor that you have probably seen in Men in Black 2.
I'm not home right now but I own all his albums in CDs and many in vinyl Disc, some tapes, promos and advanced rare versions, I even own some albums just because he features on 1 track of collaboration with other artists. Even if I was home I would propably not be in the mood of showing this anyway.
I'm not gonna lie I didn't discover him in the 80's first of all because I was just born in the 80's. I discovered him in 1999 when I was a teenager in high school, just after discovering @rahzelthelegend and his album "Make The Music 2000" which title was a tribute to Biz's original #MakeTheMusicwithYourMouth
But when I discovered him I immediately felt in love with the style, I started to learn some of his songs which wasn't easy for the French guy that I am who learned French and German way before English.
Nowadays when young people are discovering human beatbox with new generations of beatboxers like my French friends @berywam@alem_new_school@alexinhobbx or even @river_bbx for example, they don't know about the pioneers of the discipline. It's normal because they have just stepped into the human beatbox world but my advice to them is to look into the history of our artform and always pay respect and tribute to the pioneers.
