Today, we said goodbye to Gordon. He was Mark’s oldest friend from the LampyLand and was a genuinely lovely guy. Gordon ran the show when we did RockForToni in 2017 and was brilliant with Olle and the rest of the family. Gordon was always there for Mark, and it seems bittersweet to say goodbye to Gordon on Mark’s birthday. Go well, Gordon.
I’m in the process of restoring this 35ish year old Sunn Mustang that used to belong to Mark. When I got it nearly a decade back, it had no strings, and no tuners. This week I finally got round to making a start on it. Turns out it has 8mm holes for tuners and all modern tuners are 10mm - cue me with a file and dremel making bigger holes. All fingers in tact, guitar headstock in tact. Next step, re-spray and electronics - which need a complete swap out. Hopefully by next June it’ll be ready.
