Trying to create in a place like berlin when you love working analogue and with natural light can be a challenge, especially when it’s a commissioned job.
Anna
@dushime and I spent all summer trying to connect and take some pictures. But life in your 30s - and as a photographer who tries to go with the flow and tap into creative energy when it’s there rather than forcing it because of capitalism - means you’ll need to reschedule a few times. We were both busy, then fall arrived, and we each took turns being sick (still caring for each other via What’s app voicemails “zink!”), then we decided to put it on hold and eventually wait for next summer.
The moment we let it go, the universe worked its magic and blessed us with an opportunity: the magazine I work for chose Anna as the cover girl for this year’s last issue (check out her book!), and everything came full circle.
I had to push the original date and make everyone work on a Sunday because the weather app promised us sun, but real life gave us fizzy rain (the worst) and still, we made it work!
I couldn’t have done this without Anna’s and Missy Magazine’s trust but most importantly the best team, because everyone looks at the images, but really, it’s the vision, the makeup, the styling, and the creative energy that brought it all together.
