Telperion, the Silver Tree of Valinor:
Melkor and Ungoliant crept into the land of the gods and attacked the Two Trees. Melkor struck Telperion with a black spear, and Ungoliant poured her poison into its roots. The silver light faded, and darkness spread across the land.
But the light was not completely lost. The gods saved one last glowing flower from Telperion. From it, they made the Moon, to shine over the world and bring silver light to the night.

Rising tall and graceful from the stone cliffs, the tower built of pale marble and silvered steel, gleaming in the sunlight like a beacon of hope. At its crown, a great flame would burn bright, guiding ships through the dark waters of night and standing eternal watch over the sea—silent, steadfast, and full of light.

In the tangled depths of Spellbinder’s Hollow, the mildly chaotic wizard Thistlewhomp the Reasonably Competent frantically writes a new page in Big Book of Magical Mishaps for a what happened to his apprentice, Nigel—currently a glowing, disgruntled frog. “It was supposed to be a charisma spell,” Thistlewhomp grumbled, adjusting his smoldering hat. His enchanted quill doodled frogs in wizard hats while Sir Whiskerflap, a cranky ex-warlock-turned-cat, knocked a toadstool off the desk. With a puff of green smoke and a worried ribbit, things took another turn. Thistlewhomp groaned, “Not again…”

Despite the hardships of travel, Omar remained steadfast, driven not by worldly desires, but by his ever-present need to gird his loins. To Omar, this phrase was a metaphor for more than just preparation for battle—it was a reminder to fortify his spirit before every challenge, whether that meant physically tightening his belt or mentally steeling himself for what lay ahead. Each day, Omar would pause at dawn, adjusting his armor and reassuring Hamid that they were ready for whatever trials lay in their path.
