I’m never going to shut up about how each of these folks changed my life. These are four of the most talented, passionate artists I know and every day I get to watch them create and learn from them is a privilege. To go from superfans of this crew to a collaborator is an honor but to go from fan to friend is one of the great privileges of my life. The radical tenderness you all lead with is building the kind of community that I’ve always sought. You have all made me better. To a lifetime of Shin-tucky bruises, laughter, making cool shit and NEVER drinking Canadian Hunter again.

African Company was one of the most important shows I’ve ever been a part of. A tremendous script that spoke to perseverance and the ability of art to speak truth to power. A technical team whose work shined every night. A cast that always had each other and a director who led with integrity to telling this story. Super grateful @reedgottawrite gave me this shot, that I got to do it with safe and wonderful folks and that the Suzi’s acknowledged the strength of this ensemble. I got to watch people working at their best every night. What a gift.
And for Andy. You were super stoked we were doing this show. This one was for you.
WAY too early on I told @beccasimantov that she raised the threshold of beauty in my life: Laughter felt more delirious, everything was so INTERESTING and I had a new level of investment in so many of the things that I love. The mundane was technicolor. It’s remained true - She’s held me down through one of the harder patches I’ve ever been on and behind every corner of that journey is a whole world of light I didn’t see.
Truly one of the most effervescent, gifted, wise, hilarious and fun people that I’ve had the opportunity to know and I’m so glad to call her my partner through all of it. Her perspective is enviable and her presence is so steady and strong.
