Healing Update 🕊️
Two weeks off crutches.
A trip to Colombia for a wedding I truly didn’t think I would physically be able to attend.
And this week, I received neural therapy to help calm the pain that’s been part of this recovery journey.
Healing hasn’t been linear. There have been hard days. Uncertain days. Grieving-my-old-body days.
But there have also been milestones and reminders that progress is happening.

🪂 Skydiving Community in Action 🪂
We’re honored to announce that Izzy’s Wing has awarded a grant to Lauren Mead, who is facing one of the most challenging times of her life.
During a skydiving vacation in Egypt, Lauren experienced a bad canopy landing. She suffered a fractured sacrum and hip bones, requiring immediate surgery in Cairo to realign her pelvic bones and prevent nerve damage.
Lauren has made it back home, but her recovery journey is just beginning. She faces at least 12 weeks of impaired mobility and extensive rehabilitation—meaning months without the ability to work while medical expenses and bills continue to mount.
❤️ This is exactly why Izzy’s Wing exists!
While we work to make our sport safer through training and education, we know accidents can still happen. And when they do, no one in our skydiving family should face the financial burden of recovery alone.
Lauren’s situation is a powerful reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly everything can change. It’s also a reminder of how strong our community is when we come together.

Happy Thanksgiving! During my devotion today I was reminded that I was blessed to be Izzy Bucsko Mom for 23 years. To be amazed by her mind, annoyed by her pokiness but mostly enjoyed her crazy laugh. Hers a video of her with fellow skydivers. Izzy’s Wing is continuing to move forward and is awarding the first Memorial Fund of our short existence! More coming this weekend. #laughoften #lovebig #lovedeeply
