Some things:
📕 Published my first solo book (guess I’m an author now too?!) with @littlemoabooks
🏔️Was gifted some whenua pigments from @kauae_raro and started making some of my own, the first illustrative work I used then for was My First Ikura with @qianematatasipu - which was a very appropriate way to use them and a very special project!
🎨 Solo exhibition at @visit_zealandia - sold out of kōkōwai pieces!
🪩 My band @hailmeteor released our second album, it’s good.
😵💫 Generative AI has been a curveball in the art world and I get especially hōhā that it steals the work of indigenous artists who make sure we’re doing everything responsibly and to the best of our abilities, only to be faced with meaningless simulations of our toi. I will continue to side-eye it in 2026.
🏃♀️ More books and writing and comics and murals in the pipeline.
