COAS X KJM: Collaborative Mural Workshop⭐️
This workshop took inspiration from the vibrant, celebratory energy of Kerry James Marshall’s paintings to create a collective, mural-like installation — a giant bunting stretching across the room.
Bunting, often tied to patriotism and ceremony, was reimagined here as a joyful, communal act of mural-making — each triangle a reflection of self, story, and community. Visitors designed and decorated their own flags using images, words, and collage to celebrate identity, legacy, and collective creativity.
Together, these triangles formed a dynamic, collaborative artwork — a tapestry of voices woven into one shared installation.
