Iwan Smit (@iwansmit ) has been drawing for as long as he can remember. 🖊️
He laid the foundation for his signature style at a young age. While studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, he focused on illustration and visual arts, after which he expanded his artistic practice to include sculptures and light installations.

I’m very happy to have the opportunity to show Iwan Smit his work in Bussum.
The work Lulu, Mandu & Gato (the woman with cats) represents a refined urban image: cool, powerful and caring at the same time.
The light work ‘Trinity’, inspired by the tradition of stained glass is reinterpreted through Iwan Smit’s recognizable, refined urban signature. ✨
We are also happy to have shown - and sold- the last two pieces from the ‘Away from the City’ collection. The horses beautifully symbolize a quieter life just outside the city.
Last but not least, two new pieces from 2025, showing personal exploration while bridging two series.
