Maureen Valenzuela is a Filipina-American actress from the Bay Area. Her passion for acting first began on stage in high school, and later became immersed in college theatre and film productions at her alma mater San José State University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Child & Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Community Focus, and holds a minor in Theatre Arts. She began her acting career in stage productions such as The Great Gatsby, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, She Kills Monsters, and Corridos the Remix. Her entry into film began with Jason Richardson, Low Budget, and Biology. She currently is working in commercial, industrial, and narrative film projects.
Maureen is passionate about bringing representation and normalizing diversity in the film industry and other forms of media, and highlighting stories of underrepresented communities. Offscreen, she finds peace and joy in laughing with friends and family, working out, singing karaoke, going to concerts, cooking new dishes, exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, and babying her dog Hero.
