Happy 100th Black History Month Anniversary! 🖤✊🏾
The Black Panther Party meant & still means Liberation, Reparation, Revolution, and Freedom to me; Programs that feed children and the less fortunate, self-defense programs, anti-police brutality activism, and educational programs to those who couldn’t afford or get a “proper” education.
The Black Panther Party was an integral part of the 1960s as the increase of discrimination against Black communities, increase in police brutality against Brown and Black folk, systematic oppression of the specific ethic groups began to rise more and more a lot more folks begin to realize that in order to protect our own, we must become our own enforcers instead of oppressors.
The Black Panther Party, to me, is a reminder to those, that try and keep us down, make us lesser than; treat us as if we aren’t human beings. That if we really wanted to revolt and get revenge instead of reparations, we sure as hell can. 🖤✊🏾
The Pursuit of Love: A journey back to self
My senior thesis exhibition has sadly come to an end but it definitely made an impact and was a night/week filled with overwhelming love and support.
As my journey at APSU Art+Design, is coming to an end in May I wanted my final show/send off to not only be a honest exploration of my love life and self love journey but also a love letter to those that helped me continue to be me and shine.
To be loved, is to be seen.
Thank you to those who came and supported and those that have and continue to support my artistic journey. I sold some pieces too!!!!!!
