my first festival <3 made my debut @brixtondiscofestival - a very special day for me last september i went on a trip to barcelona with @jasminemstewart - two days of partying, no sleep before i got on the flight home (i speak for myself only😅) & it was this trip that gave me new found inspiration & determination. i said to myself "next summer, i want to play my first festival, & it should be BDF" i was born & raised in brixton, so it was only right when i was asked to play back in february i was super stoked! i've been to the festival & had the best time, seen so many of my fave DJs & i've had my sights set on playing there since i first came on this scene in 2023 (there is more lore behind this but i'm keeping it to myself for now😅) getting ready on saturday morning was a bit of a mad one - woke up with my eyes almost fused shut from allergies, so i didn’t feel my best, but as i kept reminding myself, the most important thing is the music, & i was well prepared to open for the greats that are marcia carr, melvo baptiste & norman jay i did myself proud & i cannot wait for next year! (i also baked a fresh loaf of sourdough for my babies and made sure their lunch was sorted the night before 😅, so i felt very accomplished!) also, i have TRIED to get myself onto USB but i absolutely LOVE everything about vinyl...apart from the dragging around of two bags full of vinyl, which is at least 120 records & at the moment this is what my fridays & saturdays consist of (good work out for me arms though) sometimes i just want to pop a couple of USBs in my pocket and jump on a lime bike, but the vinyl 🫦 she has me for life <3 anyway, this is part 1 thank you @tana.pph for capturing <33

woke up on saturday morning with my eyes so swollen i could hardly open them! plus i was deffo a little sunburnt from playing tennis in the sun the day before😅 skin peeling and all that sexy stuff 🫦 looked & felt pretty mash up only a few hours away from my set! but my first festival appearance with @brixtondiscofestival was beaut! got a lovely re-cap on this coming soon xoxo

as well as working on our branding, we also need to start work on the production side of the show! everything will be done by a very small in house team - Jas & Leila (and of course, Papacito) this week we acquired our first camera so we can start testing all the moving parts of filming and editing our first long-form episode. we settled on the @sony ZV E10 Mark 2, so now our next step is to film a small pilot episode and start editing. once we're happy with this, we'll move onto the the full camera set up! we've also settled on the @dji Osmo Pocket 3 for all our short form content, and we're very happy with it! follow to keep up with our BTS <3 #jasandleilatalk #bts #talkshow
