16/1 outsiders.Written off before a ball was kicked. But this group believed. Through the pressure, the noise, the setbacks, the late nights, the hard conversations and the moments nobody sees… we kept going. Personally I feel like I gave this season everything I had. Every bit of energy, emotion and care. I love this group of boys and I’m proud of EVERY single one of them. In football, when you push standards and demand everything, not everyone will always agree with you. You fall out, tough decisions have to be made and emotions run high. I never wanted to fall out with anyone, but every decision came from wanting the best for this club and this team. And somehow, together, we turned 16/1 odds into champions 🏆 I miss you CM 🙏🏼 Tier 5 to Tier 2. What a ride. #TheAs 💚 📸 @mac_morgan_70 @archietoms

Caerphilly Athletic have officially been crowned champions of the Ardal South East and will be promoted to the Cymru South for next season. The title was confirmed dramatically without Caerphilly Athletic even kicking a ball, as their promotion rivals’ Cwmbran drew with Brecon Corries a result that secured the title. Two weeks ago, Caerphilly Athletic looked moments away from sealing the Ardal South East title during their 2-2 draw against Undy AFC. However, a late strike from Isaac Turner denied them victory and delayed the celebrations. Heading into the final stages of the season, Caerphilly knew they needed Cwmbran Town to drop points in one of their remaining two fixtures to guarantee promotion to the Welsh second tier. Cwmbran appeared on course to keep the title race alive after turning the game around against Brecon Corries. Trailing 1-0 heading into the 74th minute, Alex Davies equalised before substitute Jack Pewnter fired the visitors into the lead. But the drama was not over. Just moments after Cwmbran’s comeback, Mitchell Davies scored for Brecon Corries to level the match, a decisive goal that confirmed Caerphilly Athletic as Ardal South East champions and secured their place in next season’s Cymru South. It marks a historic achievement for Caerphilly Athletic, who now prepare for life in the second tier of Welsh football after an outstanding league campaign.
