Starlight express means everything to me. And it would’ve never been possible without its cast. When I first saw the show, I saw the first year cast, and I have so much love for them, but the majority of time spend in the starlight auditorium for me was spend watching this cast. The cast that carried us through countless injuries, cover changes, swing losses, emergency covers and then through the most incredible last week of shows I’ve ever seen. So to celebrate them, here are some photos from the very last show. I have already put out thank you’s for specific members of this cast. But to the entire cast. Thank you. Thank you so much for creating a show and an environment that so many could love so much. Characters that I and others were able to relate to, and hold so so closely to our hearts. I feel such a huge amount of love for the characters of this show, so huge I feel frustrated trying to put the feeling into words as words do not describe it. They don’t describe the way I see Rusty in the deep depths of my soul and secrets, how I relate to what Dinah’s goes through as it has echoed in my own life many times, how my struggle with a chronic illness is reflected in the sleepiness but determination of Belle, and so much more. Every show, every improvised moment in the corner of the stage, and every interaction I have got and watched during this shows run is not forgotten. I cherish every single moment, every second, that I spent in that theatre, watching that cast. I cannot thank any of them enough for the complete joy they have brought me. I can’t wait to follow along with each of their journeys and see what every one of these incredible people do next. But they all started, for me, in starlight. So they will always be made of starlight. And whenever I see them, all I’ll be able to see is that shine. The shine that sparkles just as the lights dim and the stage is bathed in that blue. “When the night is darkest. Open up your mind.” Bye bye starlight express, thank you, for everything. ✨

Starlight express has been my entire life for over a whole year. All I would do was save for trips, edit photos, create posters and chat with friends all about starlight. And now it’s gone. This is a hard post to make, as starlight consumes my entire soul. It shines bright in the depths of the darkness that can consume me. And with it, the people it has brought me shine too. There is much I could talk about when it comes to starlight, but this post is dedicated to the friends I spent closing week with. New and old. You all turned what could’ve been a hard week into a breeze that swept by just too quickly. The show, the story, the cast and the characters hold such a key place in my heart and life, but my friends are what make it all worthwhile. If someone had told me two years ago that putting a post on tumblr asking about ‘what even is stex?’ Would bring me all this joy and happiness I wouldn’t of believed you. But it has. It has brought me incredible people. Incredible memories. And the most incredible week of my life. From spending the week in a BnB we very quickly trashed, doing train glam together at 8 am, to fancaming ash wrench, to ordering 10 boxes of pizza to a cramped hotel room, to skating with a large group of fans, to crying through the last show, to going to see the starlight wall one last time. I did it all with them people I love. Anytime I found myself in starlight sequence without a hand to hold, all I did was look to my friends. I love you all. Endlessly. What’s crazy journey this fandom has been. Being able to share it with equally as insane people fills me with so much joy and makes me feel so special I can’t articulate it. Starlight has carried me through some dark times, family issues, identity issues, a degree I almost dropped out, mental health treatment, and although i looked forward to seeing starlight to get through, i was really looking forward to seeing you. To all my mutuals, the people I was able to meet this week, and most importantly all my closest friends, thank you. I love you. The starlight in my soul shines for you. It’s over, but we are not, and I will see you all again very soon. For now, back to the coach shed✨.

Day three was such an emotional day for me, getting to see Lara again was a complete and welcome surprise and having the honour of seeing her final post meant so much to me. She is an actress who I have supported for all of starlight and whose characters have helped me so much. I wanted to post something for Lara’s last scheduled show this weekend. LaraBelle is a portrayal that has really stuck with me and I hold very close to my heart. Lara created a Belle I can relate to and love, and as a performer (my favourite performer) she is incredible. I will mourn Lara Belle forever, she is very special to me, but I am so incredibly happy to got to see her when I could. Thank you Lara Belle for all the happiness you have brought me.
