while the first passages of melodrama were born through disjointed sparks and fleeting glimpses at something bigger, the closing track “heaven” was written from a completely different approach
from the first demo, it was written with the theme of finality in mind. this track was intended to be the bookend of the story as a whole. the final piece and closing to a chapter spanning themes from loss, surrender, polarity, grief, love & everything in between. it’s one of our favorites, and finally being able to perform it has been incredible.
our debut ep “melodrama” is out now, thank you to everybody who has shown up for us in its wake. we’re just getting started.

God that hit home…
For a long time I resented my parents. Moving to a country where I didn’t feel like I belonged, being away from my cousins, my family, my culture for years… all over paperwork, not violent crimes. It was hard to understand back then.
And honestly, accepting me for who I am didn’t happen right away either. That part took years. But in the last few years, we’ve grown, and that means more to me than I can explain.
Seeing moments like this reminds me why they did what they did. They wanted a chance at something bigger for us. They sacrificed a lot so I could follow my dreams.
Watching Bad Bunny on that stage and even seeing @villastacoslosangeles there too… that really hit me. Seeing people from our culture on the biggest stages in the world made me feel proud in a way that’s hard to describe. It reminded me that we belong here too.
I’m still healing, still growing, but I’m grateful. And I’m proud to be Mexican.
