Two things. I love my momma so much it hurts. And sometimes, I find myself hiding from time with her, because it reminds me of how devastated I will be when she is no longer here with me 💔(very strange behavior-I am aware 😜. Strictly real talk over here). Second- I had her over this morning for espresso martinis, and sadly, I have broken all of my martini glasses. So we had them in margarita glasses. She told me, “I love my margatooni”. 🤣. I cannot un-hear it. Here’s to the mamas who love us through the awkward, the not so nice, the happy and the sad. Through the good and through the bad, I’m raising my margatooni to my momma. I’d choose her again and again and again. ❤️ Also- I got her a ‘marjong’ mat for Mother’s Day 😆.

Early Mother’s Day post, (because I plan on disengaging from the planet tomorrow, lol). There’s the “perfect” picture we all post- and then there’s the behind the scenes REAL stuff that truly makes up what life is. And right now? There’s a whole lotta real happening behind the scenes. Growing up isn’t easy, and stepping back to watch your babies struggle with life as young adults isn’t for the weak. As challenging as motherhood is, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. My background in pediatric oncology, and knowing parents who have lost a child (one as recently as last week 💔),has given me incredible perspective. Every struggle. Every obstacle. Every argument. Every inside joke. Every moment in this life as their mom makes me better. Even the hard ones. And every day with them is a gift. None of this has gone as I planned. I am a COMPLETELY different momma than I thought I’d be. And every day I hope I am enough. So happy Mother’s Day to allll the mommas out there. May you feel as much love as you give to the beautiful creatures you are blessed to call your babies. ❤️
