Most of our parents immigrated to other countries. So we didn’t get to grow up together, experience birthdays, Christmas or any of life’s big milestones. The fact that this trip managed to make it out of the group chat still blows my mind. Making up for lost time is the only way to describe what this trip was. Being able to experience our country together and learn so much about my history and heritage is something I’ll always be grateful for.
