YESTERDAY WAS WORLD THEATRE DAY , THIS IS WHAT I GOT UP TO 🎭
We opened with “It’s A Long Story” which I directed. It’s choreographed and performed by the incredible @thamit_tshabalala alongside two equally brilliant dancers @julia_zenzie_burnham and @mqokelit
I then took the stage in the evening and performed my theatrical stand up comedy show “I’m MoMo And I Have Issues”. What a thrill man 😭🥹
Then I ended off the night at the Market Theatre spending time with the cast of “Isitha Sabantu” which ends tomorrow after a sold out run!!!! I watched it twice…such moving theatre. So beautiful.
I think I might like this Theatre thing 🤭🫣🎭🩵
TONIGHT IS THE LAST SHOW OF “I’m MoMo And I Have Issues” at the @joburgtheatre at 7pm. “It’s A Long Story” is on tonight at 6pm at the @marketlaboratory . Tickets for both shows are available on @webtickets

'UNLEAR' by @momo_matsunyane Directed by @greenlifeshots and embodied by big deal her self @momo_matsunyane is a hard-hitting exploration of the effects of mental illness, the female body as a site of violence, and the process of unlearning inherited toxic behaviors. It also touches on the impact of colonization on the black family unit and the complexities of familial relationships.
'PENNY' by @momo_matsunyane and embodied by @zethu_mphahlele follows the story of an actor struggling to fit into the prescribed ideas of what the industry wants, and where she is in relation to these industry requirements- this gives a mirror and a voice for all actors/creators who are rising, shining and established.
