my next single “Almost Did” out everywhere Jan 2nd 🫢
.
my friend Alexis @idarosemusic and I wrote this song in January this year when I was in NYC (see slide 2). I had stayed an extra week because of the fires in LA. We had both been watching them escalate on the news for the past week, calling our friends to make sure they were okay. A friend of mine was kind enough to FT me and grab our essentials from our apartment. When Alexis and I got together to write a song, it was all we could think about. We talked about how when something so devastating happens, you start to think about what really matters to you, what items you’re going to take with you when you’re evacuating, who you’re going to call to check in on, who you wish would check in on you and who you want to be next to in times like these. Should you use an apocalyptic-like event as an excuse to get back with your ex? probably not. the many reasons you broke up still exist. But… as I watch the world go to sh*t… I forget why we ended it… I didn’t call… but I almost did.
.
This song showcases a bit of a different sound than my past releases, with the same kind of storytelling, and is for anyone who likes dance music, Julia Michaels or apocalyptic vibes hehe

behind the scenes of writing & producing ‘the mess that i am’ with @itsemwall & @rileypolanski
I love watching videos like Mix with the Masters & hearing about the process behind the songs i love so i wanted to create that for you and make it as accessible as possible for both music-makers & those who simply take it in 💙
There’s so much that could have been included in this but I’ve condensed it down to 16 minutes for you viewing pleasure on YouTube.
Keen to share more about the ‘Father, Son & the space in between’ EP & if you like this kind of stuff, engage with it so that i know 🥰🫶
my EP, ‘Father, Son & the space in between’ is out now 🏚️💙
as much as making this project has been a deeply personal & intimate process, it’s also been such a collaborative one. From country Victoria to Los Angeles, every conversation, every laugh, every embrace has shaped this collection of stories.
As someone who has really struggled to express myself in the past and articulate what I’m feeling, the habit of constantly refining the way I communicate these stories not only to the people I’ve worked with this on but to you, the listener, in the lyrics, has been so special.
I’ve always prided myself on my independence & saw that as a superpower but this EP is really a testament to allowing other artists and creatives to come into these stories and shape them together. It was the death of the ego & returning back to that vulnerable, curious kid.
For that, I’m so grateful and proud. These songs are just as much theirs as it is mine and yours.
I hope that these songs help to bring clarity to your past, are a soundtrack to what you’re going through now and are songs you continue to come back to throughout your life.
Can’t wait to breathe new life into these songs at the EP launch on Saturday, November 15 at the Bergy bandroom in Brunswick. grab a ticket from my bio to breathe it in.
From my heart to your home,
Tommy 💙

this song was really the catalyst for me overcoming my fears of getting medicated & was written at a very scary time but I’m so proud of it now. So happy it’s out in the world to be listened to.
brought this song to the US with me over new years and finished it off with the lovely @rileypolanski and @itsemwall . Truly the dream team 🫂
