Dear January,
You were full of easing into the novelty of a new year.
It came with a softness I hadn’t experienced for a bit of time. Feeling the permission to do a little less, play a little more.
You did your best to tease us with spring, and then reel us right back into the chill of winter (a moment of appreciation for my thrifted sweaters). And even though I am looking forward to the warmth to come, I love the crisp beauty you bring.
Lastly my favorite part of January. For most likely ever, is the anticipation to add another candle to my cake.
Growing older brings a mix of feelings, but find me full of joy & gratitude. For another year to experience it all, to grow in this life, and to have breath in my lungs.
You were sweet dear January. I tie you up with a red bow.
Starting my goodbyes to twenty twenty five.
Here are my Top Ten, captured in my camera roll:
1. Visiting my friends in CO. A new state, and first solo flight for me. The mountains brought me right back to Italy.
2. Learned the ropes of the barista life, and upped my caffeine intake.
3. Realized how much I love to host & partake in dinner parties.
4. If I can get something in the color red, I will.
5. Escaping for a weekend are some of my favorite memories from the past year. More of it in the new year!
6. Caught in awe by so many sunrises & sunsets. A moment to stop and remember our Creator.
7. Got to watch my bestie fall in love, and stand with her that day. (also brushed up on my sewing skills, with the help of my old sewing teacher to alter my dress)
8. Lots new friendships & experiences, too many to count. Feeling so blessed to share many laughs and tears.
9. Let us eat cake! That’s what I said. Fell back in love with baking this year, specifically cakes. The lemon or carrot cake was my favorite!
10. And last but not least. I got to see parts of myself come alive in new ways. Some forgotten, and some new.
To notice the small moments adding up in a day, week, month.
Helping us to realize that’s what makes Christmas so sweet & rich - as well as our everyday life.✨
