“You have to trust the space.”
XS Noize Podcast #272 is out now.
Dave Pen of Archive joins me to talk about Glass Minds, 30 years of evolution, creative risk, and why the band continues to embrace change rather than repeat themselves.

"I need that quest. I have to do something, and it has to be intense, and it has to cause pain, but it also brings so much ecstasy and so much joy.” — Dave Pen
A film about what it means to live fully, Run Again follows Dave Pen, the lead-singer of British rock band Archive, as he chases challenge over comfort.
Returning to the stage post-pandemic and tackling The Spine Race, one of the world’s toughest races, Dave shows how refusing to stop is just the start.

Rock music is Archive lead singer Dave Pen’s passion, but running is his rock. In Run Again, our latest Salomon TV episode, we follow Dave as he navigates two of the biggest challenges of his life, returning to tour post-pandemic, and returning to the Spine Race to finish the race he’d failed at a year earlier.
Run Again is the journey of one man, but the story it tells is a universal one about fighting your way back, and what it means to live a good life.

From the clamor of concert crowds to the tranquility of the trails, Run Again follows Archive lead singer Dave Pen as he tries to find his rhythm again.
The film traces two parallel threads in Dave’s life: his return to The Spine Race, a brutal 268-mile winter race up the backbone of England that defeated him on his first attempt; and Archive’s Call To Arms & Angels Tour, their first time back on stage since the pandemic.
What follows is a story about resilience, friendship and a man who refuses to stop.

After watching the film, which follows @archiveofficial lead singer @itsdavepen ’s journey both as a musician and a runner, the audience were treated to a unique experience: Archive performed live, the sounds of the film stepping from the screen onto the stage.
Thank you to everyone who came, it was a truly magical evening. The full film will be available to watch on our YouTube later this month.
