From Jacksonville, FL, now in Virginia Beach, VA, his passion for music and ministry started in church. Honored to perform on trumpet with the Illharmonic Orchestra, alongside Philly MC Mic King, at the legendary Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. Playing in a venue that sits in one of the world’s great cultural hubs is always inspiring, and it made the night even more special sharing the stage with such phenomenal artists. It’s also a blessing to continue making music with Thee Phantom and The Phoenix of the @illharmonic.orchestra after so many years. Collaborations like this remind me how powerful music and community can be when they come together on a stage like this. All thanks to YAH! Blessed and honored to present at the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference of the College Music Society! Being in a space with so many brilliant educators, scholars, and creatives reminded me how important it is to keep pushing the conversation forward in music education. I had the opportunity to present my paper on modern music education and explore new ways we can connect traditional pedagogy with contemporary musical practices. The discussions, feedback, and ideas shared throughout the conference were incredibly inspiring, and I’m excited to continue building on this work. Flashback Friday: CIAA 2026 was truly an unforgettable experience! I was able to perform Lift Every Voice and Sing and have my own halftime show! While unforeseen circumstances prevented our students from performing this year, we were still honored to be present and represented through the incredible artistry of @l.stringz , who stepped in and delivered a powerful performance on our behalf. Moments like these remind us that the mission goes beyond the stage—it’s about creating and ceasing opportunities and continuing to create spaces where community and culture intersect. Special S/O to Ms. Candace and Rocky of MC3 Sports for believing in us and providing us with the opportunity. We’re grateful to have been part of such an amazing event and look forward to even more opportunities to uplift and showcase the next generation of musicians.
