I’m blessed and excited to be a part of developing this new Juno Award recognizing the achievements of Canadian Artists whose recordings are in a South Asian Language!
Canada has become an incubator, producing some of the biggest superstars in various South Asian Language Genres. When you look at the streaming data, Punjabi Rap/Pop and Bollywood artists are some of the highest overall streamed artists coming out of Canada, period.
This award will spotlight and celebrate achievements of South Asian artists.

2 years ago, after @diljitdosanjh sold out Roger’s Arena in a day, I had an idea. It seemed somewhat of an impossible dream back then, but this past Saturday we saw that dream become reality.
Thank you so much for trusting me Sonali and Diljit Paji with helping them make the First Punjabi Stadium show at @bcplacestadium become a piece of History.
Diljit proved(not that he needed to) that he is undoubtedly an International Superstar and one of the greatest performers of our generation.
Thank you to Live Nation for supporting this, and to the many crew/ staff behind this that made it come to life.
I feel very blessed and grateful to be a small part of this and to watch the Punjabi Music scene grow.
