well 2025 you were definitely an interesting year. although I have had so much joy and love and friendship, this year has truly felt like my worst year yet, but I have learnt that sometimes you need these excruciatingly long moments to find who you are and what you need. this year I felt like I lost my entire community in music and all other creative worlds I exist in as well as all of my passion and drive, which has been a really tough thing to face but has given me the time to really self reflect and hone into who I am when I am not constantly busy. I am sure that with many creatives, staying busy feels like the most important thing and in turn me losing that meant I didn’t know how to exist. top surgery has taught me a lot; patience, discipline not motivation, compassion is doing the thing that is hardest now because you have your best interests in the future, and most importantly joy. Joy in my life, finding joy in my friendships and beautiful partner, joy in my body, finding joy in the silent moments and even the awkward ones. life is about growing, becoming the version of yourself that you want to be for yourself but also for others. I have learnt a lot this year through all these tough times and I feel so ready to make sure I learn from my mistakes and grow into 2026. I hope that my honesty has been able to bring some comfort to you. that not every year has to be your best and not to trust trust social media and what people post (definitely been learning this one a lot this year whilst doomscrolling constantly), like I said you have to face the hard things in life to find the sunshine. let’s hope some incredible fucking songs come out of this depressing year, and I can’t wait to share more of my music in 2026 and start to bare my soul to the world again… please be gentle, august

I have no words to describe the way I felt at this gig, it was a full experience that will stay with me for the rest of time. Joe Carstairs at the ‘Omnibus Theatre’ (London) and ‘Quay Arts’ (Isle of Wight). About time I make a post about this incredible opportunity. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this experience and journey with a lovely and caring group of people. It was a privilege to be on the stage every night with some insanely talented people. Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support, I felt so much love and it did not go unseen. I hope plays like these continue to be written because us trans people deserve to be seen and deserve to continue telling our stories. 🏳️‍⚧️
