ℝ𝕖-ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕 - 𝕊𝕚𝕝𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕔𝕝𝕠𝕒𝕜 𝕃.𝕂. 𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕟 Whilst I wait for the highly anticipated read of my life, I decided I'll do a re-read of Silvercloak to prepare me. Fun fact: it's rare I do re-reads, mainly because I don't have time or because I remember the story too well and I know what's coming next 😆 But we know how obsessed I am with Silvercloak and @laurasteven books in general (obsessed in a good way, not in a bad way because like I've said before I'm too lazy and nice to be bad) So I'm here doing another read and still getting blown away, I can't get over how intricate the magical system is, like in the prologue; the door with it's changing of colour dependant on who's knocking. I'm actually catching things (not the door because that blew me away the first time too) I didn't pick up on in the first read. @delreyuk I know I've begged and begged for a physical proof of Turncloak and I'm probably doing your head in - I'm doing everyone's head in tbh, I'm talking about it non stop to the men at work too 😂 It would mean the world to me to receive one, I can't wait to read it and post about my journey reading and if you didn't know... This is so much more than another book, this is an intricately woven world brought to life by L.K. Steven. The magic system based on pleasure and pain is created in such a unique way that I've not seen before, it breathes life into a genre that can sometimes feel overpopulated and stagnant, taking the possibilities to new heights. it's exciting and exhilarating. I loved every concept of it, the feeling it gave me as I was reading, the need to continue to find out what was coming next. The characters are all created with depth and realism. Although set in a fantasy world they face challenges that we as every day people face. They're relatable, Saff on her quest to seek revenge or justice depending on how you look at it can be related to mundane life. Her passion, her fire, whether she's right or wrong she's a strong character and one that makes you think 'what would you do in her shoes'. I am invested in their journeys and crave more information about their futures. My love for Laura's books is in her writing, it's so beautifully crafted. I feel Laura doesn't just write books, she fully immerses you in her world. This isn't just reading, this is dreaming with my eyes wide open. ⭐𝔹𝕆𝕆𝕂 𝕋𝕆𝕌ℝ ℝ𝔼𝕍𝕀𝔼𝕎⭐ Thank you @lovebookstours and @anlynmillerauthor for having me on this review tour and for the gifted copy of Chalet Hearts - I do love a good rom-com! I enjoyed reading Chalet Hearts, it's a slow burn romance with found family sprinkled in for good measure. This novel is a multi POV format from the main characters Lucy and Jake. I love this format as it gives an insight into each character and I feel we learn more in depth about them. I loved their dynamics and how they played out alongside each other. The backdrop of the ski resort made for a picturesque setting, the descriptions made me feel like I was there with them from the comfort of my warm sofa and I loved the tropes we got throughout the novel. The writing was engaging, the miscommunication trope was well played and I say this from someone that usually doesn't like that trope, the way the book was written it grabbed me and made it a quick read. I love this edition of Annie Knows Everything by @rachelwouldnt I know I posted earlier but swipe the pictures to see the stunning edges and the signed endpapers.
