12 photos made over 12 wild months.
On Friday this project turned 1 year old and it’s pretty surreal to think how easy it is to forget about all the things we’ve done. I laughed looking back at these and asked
@caffenervosa what gave her the confidence to do this. Optimism, trust, love and the thrill, I think. Slides 1 & 2 are a year apart from one another. In between has been stripping, sanding, mudding, drywall, cabinets, floors, plumbing, you name it. No room spared.
Of course I wish I had more photos of finished projects, but we’re getting there. Every night, steadfast after work, and every weekend… Patience is something I’m learning, among other things. You can only cut one board at a time, and it’s not all going to happen today, and whether I love it or not, it’s okay.
Though we’ve cut every board and turned every screw that’s went into this house so far we couldn’t do it without friends like
@bmiksic ,
@qyzus and others. Last minute gut checks, a tool, a truck, a wood shop, it’s always something and they’re good for it. Thanks to them and to everyone who asks and encourages us!
@caffenervosa is an absolute hero for the time and effort she puts in… She’s always right around the corner, by my side or knee deep making this house into home (and looking cute as hell while she does it). I can’t imagine doing this with anyone else and am so greatful for her talent.
Victory is still around the bend but we can feel it now!!
