9 months have passed in Hong Kong! Thanks to my wonderful classmates, who have made this a great experience, to my friends and family who have come to visit, and to @al.harth.aj who has supported me in going on this adventure❤️ It is crazy to think that I have finished my last MBA classes in Hong Kong, and that I will be done with my studies in a few months. The next three months will be spent at London Business School in London. Please reach out, if you are there!
Today, my rice cooker and I have officially been through 5kg of rice. It’s been ups and downs. It’s really tough to be trying to figure out “what’s next” in life while being away from my friends and family. At the same time, I feel very grateful for this opportunity to learn challenge myself. It feels crazy that it’s already been 3 months - time moves so fast. Love to you all from Hong Kong ❤️
PUBLIC PLAYLIST 005: Cute Pearls & Sidechains
This is our fifth playlist curated by Julia Bratland, who for the past seven years worked as an A&R manager in the Danish music industry. This summer, Julia packed up and moved to Hong Kong to pursue an MBA.
‘To me, music is about identity and belonging – themes I’ve thought a lot about since relocating. Who am I, and who do I want to be? How do I identify with my new social circles, and what does that say about me? Music helps me with exactly these things: to express myself and to find a common language with others.
The playlist I’ve created for PRAWN reflects how I perceive the brand’s identity. There’s something nostalgic and timeless about the choice of pearls and classic shapes like hearts and flowers. At the same time, the designs – with their chunky chains and roughly written statements – radiate a youthful, rebellious, and unapologetic energy. I see that same duality in the tracks I’ve included: some carry classic melodies over provocative beats, while others feel entirely innovative, yet still reference a nostalgic TV series lyrically. It’s edgy, yet familiar.’

First day of school picture 🤓 Well, really first week of orientation pictures. It’s been a lot of new experiences: new home, new amazing classmates, new food, a new type of heavy rain (!!!), and new business fits 🕴️
Move with me to Hong Kong to study an MBA at HKU. I was going to post this on TikTok when I found out that TikTok is not available in Hong Kong. So now I’ve made my first reel 😅 Bear with me!
Life update: I’m moving to Hong Kong to study an MBA at the University of Hong Kong 🥹
That also means that tomorrow will be my last day at Sony Music Denmark and my last day in the Danish music biz (at least for a while). I’m so deeply grateful for all of the extremely talented artists that I have gotten to work with. Every time I got to listen to your brand new demos or sit in a meeting listening to your ideas and ambitions, it made my job feel joyful and exciting. Working with you has truly been the highlight of my time at Sony. I believe a TON in each one of you, and can’t wait to follow your career as a fan ❤️
I’m also very thankful that I got to be part of the music industry during what feels like a transformative time for diversity and inclusion. The work is not finished yet, but seeing the shifts happen has been very meaningful to me.
Thank you to everyone who has worked with me one way or another - you will be missed! Goodbyes aren’t easy when you’re leaving something you like.
That being said, I am so extremely excited and proud to start my MBA Studies at The University of Hong Kong (a university that has just been ranked as no. 11 globally!!! Whaaat?!). When I first began preparing for the application process, I did not hold much faith that I would actually be enrolled by this fall. First of all the stupid GMAT made me cry several times, and secondly I did not believe I would get the scholarships necessary for me to be able to pay for the education. But first I finished the test. Then I got the scholarship. And here I am - and I am SO proud of myself. Thank you to @al.harth.aj who cooked dinner for me for many months while I was studying, and to my friends who let me disappear into a study-hole and yet were there to comfort me when the freakin test made me cry😅
This was a long post. Thank you to everyone. Next month I’m going to be living in Hong Kong - let’s go!
……..
I’ve been really excited to finally announce Who Run the World Records: A strategic label initiative at Sony Music, which will work purposefully and continuously to find solutions to the barriers that contribute to talented women and gender minorities either opting out of or not having favorable conditions to succeed in their careers in commercial music.
To begin with, we will focus on three key areas: a strong professional network, a comprehensible financial structure, and transparent parental leave options.
We need to create the framework so that the artists can create the successes.
