Youth Nationals and 420 Worlds Selector
Fourteen Itchenor sailors competed in the Youth Nationals 7-10 April at HISC in the 420 class. Day one saw sunshine and a 20-25 kts of south-easterly breeze together with a big swell rolling in. These testing conditions were clearly enjoyed by Itchenor, with Ed leading overnight, Lucas in 2nd and Felix and Lucy 8th. The sun continued through the week and the wind moderated to give a further three days of excellent racing in Hayling Bay. Three Itchenor boats qualified for the medal race, with Pippa ending up 5th overall, 2nd girl and 1st U17. Ed was 8th overall and Rupert and Freddie 9th (and 2nd U17).
As a result, six Itchenor boats have qualified for the World Championships in France in July. Congratulations to Ed, Felix, Freddie, Lucas, Lucy, Pippa, Rupert and Zac!

Yesterday was a brilliant day to test out the exciting, new Firefly Team Racing event! And what a success it was!
With sunshine and cool breezes, the HISC team clinched victory with the Bishop Luffa- BSC team coming in second, and Seaford and ISC tying for third place.
