This day was created with intention. We know how often mothers are expected to navigate recovery, emotional changes, and complex systems on their own after leaving the hospital. This space is here to remind you that care and support do not end at delivery. A complimentary lunch will be provided to all guests. Today, ITAVFoundation, in partnership with The Comfort Giver, was honored to host Village Care Day in recognition of Good Neighbor Day America, a nationwide movement rooted in kindness, service, and community care. Today was a reminder that community is not just a word, it is action. It is people showing up for one another, sharing information, extending kindness, and making sure their neighbors know they are seen and supported. One person walked into the event and decided to tell others in the neighborhood about what was happening. Because of that simple act, families came, conversations were shared, resources were exchanged, and what started quietly became a room filled with connection and care. That is what being a good neighbor is about. Good Neighbor Day is not only about hosting events. It is about creating moments where people feel supported, welcomed, informed, and cared for. It is about understanding that even small acts of kindness can ripple through an entire community. Families received household essentials, hygiene products, care items, toys, STEM and learning activities for children, and additional giveaway items. We also had the opportunity to share knowledge and resources beyond giveaways. Thank you to The Register of Wills for coming out and speaking with families about deeds, estate planning, and important information many people in our communities often do not have access to. Thank you to the community leaders who came out to pour into others, share resources, and create meaningful conversations throughout the day. A special thank you to Tessy’s Natural Water Ice for providing water ice for families and children, and thank you to Execute That Studio for providing the space and helping create an environment where community could gather comfortably. “It Takes A Village” is more than a phrase. Village Care Day is a community-centered pop-up hosted by ITAVFoundation on May 16, 2026, in recognition of Good Neighbor Day America, a nationwide movement rooted in kindness, service, and community care. As part of this national day of service, ITAVFoundation, in partnership with The Comfort Giver, will support single-parent households through direct resource distribution. Families will receive care packages with baby wipes, hygiene products, and essential household items. We are also introducing The Village Promise Wall, an interactive workshop experience designed to create space for reflection and intention. Attendees will be invited to write a personal promise to themselves, their families, or their community, and add it to a shared wall. Whether it’s a promise to help a neighbor, grow personally, or simply show up with more care, each message becomes part of a collective moment of connection and accountability. This day is rooted in a simple belief: when we show up for one another, we strengthen our communities.
