Magnus Andersen:
Hvis en Gädde dukker up, er det ikke altid bedst at være Først
21/04/2026–16/05/2026
ISSUES is delighted to present an exhibition with Danish artist Magnus Andersen. The new pictures and ceramic sculptures form another iteration of Damdramaer, Pond Dramas, where little ducklings are persistently pursued by pikes, who lurk and attack from below. As the Danish title of the show suggests, in a row of ducks, the first one is taking the highest risk by being the most exposed. If looked at through the eyes of fairy tale author H.C. Andersen, the drama unfolds in a humanly relatable way.
@issuesgallery ’s presentation at Market Art Fair 2026 brings together @simonwadsted and @magnus_andersen_pictor .
Wadsted’s paintings explore his immediate surroundings through a lens of subtle, magical realism. In contrast, Andersen presents a ceramic still life where a row of ducks is disrupted by a pike, introducing a quiet sense of tension and allegory.
