Series 01* Graduate Talk on Design Research Methodology by Prof. Amaresh Chakrabarti, IISc India Title: *Introduction to Methodologies for Design and Design Research* Prof. Chakrabarti is a Senior Professor and Chair of the Department of Design and Manufacturing at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), one of India’s leading research institutions. He earned his PhD in Engineering Design from the University of Cambridge and is internationally recognized for his seminal contributions to design synthesis, creativity studies, sustainability, and artificial intelligence in design. Using a mixed-method approach, the research combines professional perspectives from architects, designers, and coffee culture observers with consumer awareness and preference data related to adaptive reuse spaces. 💡 Key Findings: The research shows that successful adaptive reuse strategies are able to balance historical integrity with new spatial and business functions.
