What a year it’s been 😌
Never thought I’d be back in this space, but it’s been one of the best moves back. 💪
To all my fellow class-goers:
It’s been a privilege to dance with you all. To grow with everyone from different ranges and to share our enjoyment of movement has been filling my cup this year 🙏
To the teachers and choreographers:
I’m truly grateful to be your student. It’s been an uphill climb to get back on the bike and ride once more. I’m thankful that you all have put in your hard work as educators so I can have the opportunity to get the gears going. Physicality was one thing but internally building the confidence was really that uphill slope of the journey. Thank you for the push in every class I’ve taken🙂↔️

Finally to @reclaimandrise.co I’m blessed to be part of this team. @geegtorres@allibonzel I never would have thought that after a year of training I would be led here. What you both have created is something personally meaningful to my own story. I’m sooo looking forward to these next 2 months. This will go down in my memories as another milestone ❤️✨

Takeaways from this one class:
- I learned to love and appreciate the process. Naturally we want the result of getting the choreography perfectly but what was exciting was the process and the adventure of creating movement through Shaun’s structure.
- This was an Omakase Class to me. We can pick and choose from a menu of what we like but the way Shaun tailored this class felt like I was stepping into his domain whilst he offered only the best that he cooked up. Circle talks as the appetizer, Choreography as the main dish, Direction & Tutelege as the dessert
- And Finally. Seeing a canvas starting blank but fully painted in different colors. We had structure to the movement while hearing the music deeply and thoroughly. With each stroke of movement I could see how we all moved the same through the structure but we all had our individual colors painted differently in each seem.

📖An Entry in my Diary (1/2)📖
A real circle of life experience for me. This class meant more to me than most would know.
Shaun was the first studio class I ever took many many many moons 🌕🌛ago when I was a rookie. Barely any training but decided to take his Master class years ago in San Diego because I saw his work on Gen2. I was in over my head because I stood amongst giants in the dance industry who were also taking his class now known as pioneers today. I just remember watching everyone and wondering how are they getting all this choreography so quickly and effortlessly. Regardless it was the push I needed to be amongst a teacher and environment that catered to growth.
Fast forward to this day and taking his class for a 2nd time ✌️ . It’s been about 9 months that I restarted to dance again (May 2025-Present). I’ve been out of the dance scene for 10+ years and thought I would be forever retired, but life has a way of bringing you back to your roots. I’ve loved dancing so much again, that the simplicity of being a student in this space has filled my cup every week. And taking @shaunevaristo class was the icing on this cakewalk of life.
