We join our voice to the Isoko Need Light Campaign. Now that the elections are here, Isoko politicians and Delta leaders alike are all over the communities canvassing for votes in darkness, not many have mentioned what they will do differently when elected. Just play with the Isoko electorate, give them rice and leave until the next election season No Light No Campaign in Isoko. #isokos #IsokoNeedLight #NoLightNoCampaign

Archiving our Isoko history. The International African institute in their anthropological and linguistic study of Africa gave the first grant to Missionary Rev. J.W Welch a Christian Missionary Society (CMS) for his documented work on the Isoko People of Southern Nigeria in its 1932 report. James Welch traversed the Isoko Upland and Riverine territory in 1920s to early 1930s. Though his respective accounts of our kingdoms may not be full proof and correct because apparently he was colonial missionary and his account will always come with some bias and all, he documented the earliest set of written history in print of the Isoko people which was a huge deviation from the developed Isoko oral, artistic and sculptural documentation style of the time. #isokos #isoko #history #archives #proudlyIsoko

Drone images from 2026 Oleh Kingdom Oliho Festival Isoko South Delta state. What you need to know about Olihọ Oleh Festival! The Oleh Oliho Festival is a vibrant cultural celebration held in Oleh. It is one of the most important traditional festivals of the Isoko people, reflecting our deep-rooted heritage, spirituality, and communal identity. Significance: The Oleh Oliho Festival is primarily a celebration of ancestral reverence and War victory. It serves as a time when the people of Oleh honor their forebears, seek blessings, and express gratitude for protection, prosperity, and good harvests. The festival reinforces unity among indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, as many return to participate in the festivities. Cultural Activities The festival is marked by a rich display of traditional practices and performances, including: Oletu Udje Displays: The highlight of the festival is the appearance of sacred Oletus from the Okporho, Uzokpa and Eviewho Quarters of Oleh Kingdom who are warriors in the Isoko folklore. They perform dramatic dances, storytelling, and symbolic rituals with the Opia (cutlass). Traditional Music and Dance: Indigenous drums, flutes, and songs fill the air as various groups showcase cultural dances. Each performance carries historical and moral significance, often narrating stories of bravery, wisdom, and community values. Community Feasting and Social Gathering: Families and visitors come together to share meals, strengthen bonds, and celebrate their shared identity. It is also a time for reconciliation and renewing relationships. Awesome experience Video credits @gbestkoncepts #olihofestival #isoko #isokos #oleh
