After our basement flooded last year, we found ourselves in the midst of an unexpected construction project. No timing for that situation is ideal, but in our case, we were having a baby in a few months, so…it was a lot. 😅
But it was honestly so much fun to reenvision this space and help bring it to life. We took our time and did it right, and with a lot of effort (and definitely the right contractor who did incredible work!) our basement renovation is close to being done.

Throwback to 2016! What 👏🏼 A 👏🏼 Time. They were the days of being a bit cringy but *whatever* it was all so fun and carefree. I look back now and I’m proud of that young woman who just went out there and did it!
10 years later and it feels like the world became so much more complicated. But I look back on that time and feel hopeful because the core of all that good feels like it’s having a resurgence now. I’m here for it!

Proof that pops of green are always a good idea. To see flowers in the wild after a long Michigan winter is to see the little things they always remind you to appreciate and to lean in fully. 🌸 24 hours in Charleston on our drive to Florida. Little moments like this and hanging with some of our besties was so good for the soul. @lizadams@davebear25
Our small-space dining room is at the heart of our home and it’s amazing to think of how it’s evolved with our family.
Since we moved in, it’s seen our family grow from 4 to 6 and it’s changed right along with us. The first table we got was too big, the second too small, the third was round and not quite right for the space, and there have even been times when we said “Screw the table” all together and made it a play area.
Recently we decided to pause and reenvision it again, this time with longevity in mind. We’ve done all the work ourselves, and while it’s been quite the process, it’s been so much fun! It’s almost done and *WOW* it’s a bold pivot. I can’t wait to share more in the coming days, so be sure to keep following along!
