The 79th edition of the
@FestivaldeCannes opened in spectacular fashion tonight, blending old-school glamour with cinematic celebration on the Croisette. Hosted by actress
@HaidaraEye , the opening ceremony paid tribute to the magic of cinema with emotional speeches, live performances, and a standing ovation for filmmaker Peter Jackson, who received an Honorary Palme dâOr from Elijah Wood.
Music also took center stage, with French artists

@Oklou_ performing a dreamy rendition of the âGet Backâ by The Beatles, a nod to Jacksonâs acclaimed Beatles documentary work. Meanwhile, cinema legends
@JaneFonda and Gong Li officially declared the Festival open. The evening concluded with the premiere of âLa VĂ©nus Ă©lectriqueâ, director Pierre Salvadoriâs retro romantic comedy starring
