Tomorrow night at Ingrown:
THE GOBS, lazily labeled "egg punk" by those without a proper barometer on music, are an Olympia, Washington based punk outfit. Their latest recording, featuring some punishingly minimalist synth, is reminiscent of some of the original unorthodox punk bands such as LA's the Eyes.
DOUBLE OVER are Chicago based hardcore punk featuring members of acts like ConSec, Useless Info and Sniper Culture.
CEL RAY is a Chicago band, not a beverage. Though it would be fair to compare their style to certain staples like Pylon or Suburban Lawns, it would be discounting their ignorantly high energy. In other words, I'll be jumping up and down like an idiot.
Also featuring a yet to be named, though notably disgusting secret guest. Aptly self described as d-beat, but do they fall under some of the pitfalls of the style? No manches
