Funny how the AI took our fresh faces and decided we were doing the full gangsta boogie in a 90s noir flick. 🕺🏾🎥 While the computer was reimagining our look, I was busy reimagining the sound. It’s a trip seeing this old CBC feature. 30 years… over a quarter of a century since we started this journey. For those who have been following along, you know it’s been a long and winding road.
I started this game as a kid in Winnipeg named Sun-Lo, the music producer behind the boards for the Frek sho sound you hear in this clip. That path eventually led me to a new chapter as ishQ Bector, exploring different sounds and stages. And now, the evolution brings me full circle, creating under my new identity, IKLUV.
Through all the name changes and sonic shifts, the foundation has always been there. To celebrate our 25-year anniversary, I went back to that raw, foundational energy. As IKLUV, I’ve refreshed the classic Frek Sho sound for a brand new series.
This isn’t just a throwback; it’s the culmination of the entire journey. I’m incredibly proud to share the first chapter: our new album, “Bumper Shine,” is OUT NOW.
