Meet our Director! JAYDA JONES (she/her) Jayda Jones (Director and Producer) is a graduating Directing student at Fordham University. As a Black female artist, IS GOD IS allowed her to question her relationship to her blackness and strengthen her understanding of her identity. Since discovering the play in 2019, Jayda has directed, written, and produced her own devised work, We, The Descendants of Slaves, workshopped scenes from this play in classes and directed-produced a full production of JUMP by Charly Evon Simpson in repertory during the fall of 2022. Jayda has assistant-directed Fucking A on the Fordham Mainstage. She was Assistant Director for B.R.E.A.D by Lee Melillo, and Virginia/Poe by Daria Kent - both Fordham Studio and peer-written pieces, as well as dramaturg for Next to Normal in Studio. When not working in the theater, Jayda enjoys graphic design, video editing, and collaborating on short films with friends. Jayda would like to thank her Momma, Ronette, for encouraging her to chase her magic, and her collaborators for engaging in the ask of this work fully and bringing the colors and themes of this world to life.
