Today, we welcome Jeff Rubin as interim dean of the iSchool.
A two-time iSchool alumnus and longtime leader in digital innovation at Syracuse University, Rubin brings decades of experience in technology, entrepreneurship and higher education leadership to the role.
“It’s a great honor to step into this role at the iSchool, which is a place that means a lot to me,” Rubin says. “I earned my degrees there and have spent my career there, and I have experienced firsthand the dedication and talent of the school’s students, faculty and staff.”

At the Syracuse University AI Summit 2026, hosted by United AI, the iSchool’s Jaime Banks brought Reachy the robot to the summit, giving attendees a hands-on look at the human side of AI and social robotics. Banks leads the LINK Lab at the iSchool, which studies how people interact with social machines, from robots to video game characters.
From research and industry to ethics and innovation, the summit brought together students, faculty, and builders from across Syracuse to explore what’s next for AI.
